Alberto & Lorita, The Lord Charles Hotel....

I love it how when Alberto and Lorita look at each other they have a twinkle in their eye.

Alberto knew when he met Lorita that she was the one for him and wasn’t going to give up until he married her.  7 years later here they were standing before each other committing their lives to one another, and I had the privilege of capturing their day :)

This wedding was a huge affair, with Alberto and Lorita both coming from Portuguese families, it was a party and a half! :) The ceremony was held at Somerset West Baptist Church and the reception after at the Lord CharlesHotel.

Thank you Alberto and Lorita for letting me be a part of your special day.  It was so amazing to be there.
Here are just a few of my favourite pics from their day...

a bit of nostalgia...

nostalgia |näˈstaljə; nə-|
noun
sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations

well, what a day, what a wedding!  was so lovely watching Prince William's and Kate Middleton's ceremony today.  really made me feel so nostalgic about being back home in England.  thought Kate's dress was absolutely stunning and the whole day went so well.  wondered how the wedding photographers felt...quite a lot of pressure photographing any wedding let alone a prince's and princess' wedding!

speaking of nostalgia, i absolutely love looking through old photos that remind me of a place, people or time that means something to me. recently my hubby inherited his great-grandfather's bible which has been handed down through generations to his father.  it is such a huge, lovely old bible and i had great time going through it and to my surprise found old treasures hidden between the pages.  many of these treasures were printed old hymns and bible readings, but the best thing i found was this mysterious photograph, below, bound on a piece of paper.

i love the way photographs can conjure up lots of different emotions.  with this one i would love to know why it was so important to someone and where this photograph was taken.

but for now to my hubby and i, it shall remain a mystery.  maybe one day we will find out....

from my lovely hometown, here is Adele...have played her new album over and over this past week.  what a beautiful voice...enjoy! :)
