a bit of nostalgia...

nostalgia |näˈstaljə; nə-|
noun
sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations

well, what a day, what a wedding!  was so lovely watching Prince William's and Kate Middleton's ceremony today.  really made me feel so nostalgic about being back home in England.  thought Kate's dress was absolutely stunning and the whole day went so well.  wondered how the wedding photographers felt...quite a lot of pressure photographing any wedding let alone a prince's and princess' wedding!

speaking of nostalgia, i absolutely love looking through old photos that remind me of a place, people or time that means something to me. recently my hubby inherited his great-grandfather's bible which has been handed down through generations to his father.  it is such a huge, lovely old bible and i had great time going through it and to my surprise found old treasures hidden between the pages.  many of these treasures were printed old hymns and bible readings, but the best thing i found was this mysterious photograph, below, bound on a piece of paper.

i love the way photographs can conjure up lots of different emotions.  with this one i would love to know why it was so important to someone and where this photograph was taken.

but for now to my hubby and i, it shall remain a mystery.  maybe one day we will find out....

from my lovely hometown, here is Adele...have played her new album over and over this past week.  what a beautiful voice...enjoy! :)

so much to be grateful for......

feeling so utterly relaxed and rejuvenated after a lovely holiday we had while my mum was over visiting from England. hubby and i took her all around wonderful Cape Town and beyond and lucky for us the weather was fab the whole time she was here.  must admit felt so proud to be living in Cape Town while we were showing off the sights, this really is a beautiful city which i, time and time again, seem to take for granted.

here are just some of the shots i managed to get while we were out and about.  stunning landscapes in picturesque Cape Town! :)

Hope everyone is also having a great Easter weekend with family and friends.  in this time makes me realize how much i have to be thankful for.

ending off with the great Imogen Heap....this song is one of my faves and on this track she used all different sound seeds that people sent to her.  the finished work is so amazing!
