lights, camera, action...

i love it when i find old film, which i absolutely have no clue where it came from or when i used it. happened to me to the other day and after developing it found out it was from my lomo action sampler camera which i brought ages ago, used all the film up in a flash, and then forgot to develop it.
also having fun using some old film cameras i have. One Fujica make my folks gave to me, one Kodak brownie and Kodak Duaflex, both of which i found in an antique shop going cheap.  if you wana check out even more unusual cameras (i'm talking using a melon and a beer can as a pin hole camera), check out a guy called Justin Quinnell's website. pretty bizarre, but amazing stuff, if you like that kinda thing.
but on the other hand, here's to thanking lomo for some unusual cameras (which don't require any mess like a melon does!)...

easter, easter, easter

easter, the time of Jesus' death and resurrection, easter bunnies, easter chocolate eggs, easter chicks, and public hols! yay! as my darling hubby was away catching a few waves this year, I had a great girlie weekend with my friend in Cape Town. as some of her family members and friends were running the two oceans, we woke up at the crack of dawn (ok, so it was like 7:30am, but to me on a public hol thats ludicrous!) to go and watch people finish. as always, thought it was a great excuse to take the camera along. has even got me inspired to maybe run the half two oceans next year, it really is one of the most beautiful marathons. but maybe watch this space, we'll see how i'm feeling next year....

also managed to get some time to go to the beach, this was us climbing rocks...

going dutch....

kitchen teas, something that originates from the africaans culture. you have one lady, who is about to get married, gather all the ladies who are invited to the wedding, and they bring presents, preferable kitchen wear, and you watch the bride-to-be open the presents. I happen to go to one of these events a couple of weeks ago for my english friend who is due to get married this month, took my camera along, and this is what came out....
