Jonathan & Lindsey | Highlands Country House

I have really cherished being a part of friend’s weddings in the last few months and being able to capture their day for them.  This wedding was particularly special to me as it was for my good friend, Emily’s Mum - Lindsey and her fiancĂ© - Jonathan.

Lindsey and Jonathan have one of the most romantic stories of how they reunited after being childhood friends!  They were born on the same day, at the same hospital and through this their mothers became friends.  Lindsey and Jonathan grew up together, but as time went on they lost contact with each other.

A year and a half ago Lindsey was visiting her mother in England and heard that Jonathan was also home in England at the same time, visiting his mother.  Through this they regained contact, met up and, consequently fell in love! :)

And on the 25th November 2011 they came before their family and friends and got married! :)

Me, being a hopeless romantic, absolutely love this story!

The wedding was a small affair, with just close family and friends, which was beautiful, all held at the stunning Highlands Country House in Kenilworth.

Thank you Jonathan & Lindsey for letting me be a part of your perfect day – was such an honour!

Below is the necklace that Jonathan brought Lindsey for the day :)
These were Alice's shoes - who is Lindsey's daughter and was bridesmaid for the day - absolutely love this colour!
Lily  - who was flower girl - practising her walk down the aisle :)
Ryan, Emily's husband - sang a song during the ceremony
Managed to fit in a skype call during the reception from close friends in France
The festivity of the day completely took it out of Willow, Emily & Ryan's daughter :)

Garth & Shelley | Engagement

a few weeks ago I met with the lovely Garth & Shelley at Kirstenbosch Gardens for their engagement shoot :)

As Nick and I left Somerset West it was a gorgeous sunny day, but as we approached Cape Town we saw that clouds had desended on the mountains and it was a little colder there, but that didn't spoil our day and the shoot...and we kept Garth & Shelley moving around to keep warm! :)

Garth & Shelley met in the UK, online, a few years ago and then decided to come back to Cape Town and get married! :)

Congratulations Garth & Shelley and thank you! I hope all the plans for the wedding in March are coming along swimmingly! :)

dream dream dream

as we have now reached December and approaching the end of the year, Nick and I have started to look back on 2011...and what a year!  It definitely has been quite a roller coaster year for us...but as we look back we realised the main thing is that it has been a year of dreams.

Nick and I love to dream about the future together and what we would both personally like to achieve in the future.  for me, the dream this year was to approve in my photography and take it to the next level...and even though I feel I am not quite there yet...I definitely feel I have achieved more this year.
for Nick, he is a lover of music, song writing, composer and loves joining with other musicians and helping them to create the music they want.  one of his goals this year was to start a recording studio...and I'm glad to say he has now reached this goal!  he has been recording other artists for a while now..but has decided to make it official now.  and as we like to compliment and support each other in our little ventures..he asked me to take some shots for him for his page. so here are just a few of the pics i captured for him.  you can go to his page if you would like to find out more about his recording studio...InFlame Recording Studio...and also listen to some of the artists he has recorded.

to all those dreamers out there...keep dreaming and making those dreams a reality :)
